If you're like me and you're going through this same struggle or not necessarily the same but you can feel yourself falling out of the love of God and the love for His service.
I want you to know two things.
It's not until you become an athiest that you've backslided.
That little thought in your head...
That tinge of jealousy.. That naughty thought in your head about that person...That extra sip of alcohol..Rebeliousness .. I can do it and no one would be able to do a thing.
These are the signs we should pay attention to because its when you have them recurring that they become full blown sins and you start to question if its even worth it to be a Christian at all.
The second thing I'd like to let you know is...
There is still hope.
So long as you still breathe air and you're heart is still pumping..there is hope.
That alone is testament to the fact that God still loves you and He hasn't given up on you.
You can never stray too far from Him. Irrespective of the kind of sins you've committed He'll take you back like His child that you are.
So, how do you go back to Him.
The firs step is acknowledging that you actually need help.
Sin is the most deadly sickness in the world today, that's because it exposes you to things you should be shielded from as a child of God. Think about it this way. There are two houses in this world. The House of God and the house of evil. These two houses are in perpetual war at all times and never see eye to eye.
If you're a child of God and you run away from under His shield...you think the evil one will take care of you? No. He'd destroy you.
You're child to his biggest adversary whom he can never be like. He's angry with you. He's out to get you, Your Father is the only one who can save you from Him.
Back to sin being a sickness. You can't seek cure while hiding away from your symptoms.
"He that covers his sin shall surely die"
The One by whom's stripes you are healed..that's exactly the person to go meet for a definite healing.

The second step is to beg for forgiveness.
Now that you know that you have sinned are you going to just sit back and do nothing about it? No way!
Pray to Him for forgiveness and you'll see that His hands are not shortened in any way.
He'll take you back.
Third Step
Invite Him back into your life. Ask Him to take control and to reign supreme. When God is the one filling your life..you see that effortlessly your actions, thoughts and circumstances will align with His doctrines.
The Grace will come back in. That joy you had as a newly repented believer will come back.
Final Step
It's a day by day process. Never think that you have come past the stage of falling for that is a breeding ground for the worst type of backsliding; the proud and ignorant one.
Pray to Him everyday. Meditate on the word and keep it close to your heart everyday. Make God your best friend. Talk to Him about everything bothering you and He'll straighten it out. As for those that are practical, the Bible has answers to most of them and He will direct the right kind of people into your life to help you out of every situation..
Storms will come, but remember the One you follow walked upon the water.

My Heavenly Father
Thank you for your unending mercy towards me and the love you have for me.
I have greatly sinned against you and broken your heart. Lord, I am sorry.
Forgive me and wash me with your blood. Have mercy on me.
I invite you into my heart, come in and make my life your abode.
Thank you for I am an new creature.
